The All Hands Training Surface Water Rescue Course is designed to meet or exceed Technician Level Job Performance Requirements for Surface Water Rescue as defined by NFPA 1006 Chapter 16 Surface Water Rescue 2017 Edition. During the course, student will perform shore and “go” based rescues, select, outfit, operate, and rescue individuals utilizing boats as a rescue platform.

NFPA 1670 Surface Water Operations Level Guidelines state that those operating on or operating a boat need additional training not included in this course.

This program IS NOT designed to meet all of the Job performance requirements for Operations and Technician Level Rescuers as defined in NFPA 1006 Chapter 21 Watercraft Rescue 2017 Edition. The Watercraft Rescue standard included additional Swiftwater requirements that are not addressed in this course. For training in specific Watercraft Rescue operations we would direct you to our “Emergency Boat Operation and Rescue(16hr)(PAFB)” or “Water Rescue Boat Operations(24hr)(AHF)” courses.

It is the responsibility of the AHJ to adopt a model for providing training for those disciplines.
