Situational Awareness: Size Up and Identifying Hazards
Objective: To broaden and enhance students familiarization and skills in recognizing hazards at emergencies. This is accomplished by providing some basic refresher topics, a review of incidents gone wrong, lessons learned, and sharing information to promote improved situational awareness.
Bad things can happen in an instant, no matter how much we prepare, train and are ready.
This seminar begins with a review of basic fire ground awareness, pre-incident preparations and identifying hazardous conditions.
We then move to a review of several scenarios and group discussion of life-threatening situations. We also will cover size-up, building construction, recognizing fire scene conditions and more.
Students are encouraged throughout the program to develop their situational awareness.
This seminar is 2-3 hours, and can be delivered at your site or at the All Hands Fire Training Center.
