Fully Involved – Leadership Program

All Hands Fire Training is proud to offer the Fully Involved leadership program from national instructor Captain Mark vonAppen. 

Captain vonAppen is a 27 year veteran of the fire service in California where he was assigned to the suppression division and achieved the rank of captain.  During his career he worked on multiple engine companies (including urban and wild land urban interface) the ladder company, and served in the training division. He served a committee member for California State Fire Training and has contributed to the development of Firefighter Survival and Rapid Intervention curriculums.  Mark has been published in Fire Engineering Magazine, Fire Service Warrior, and is the creator of the fire service leadership blog FULLY INVOLVED.  He has been a featured presenter at FDIC International since 2015 and has travelled the country as a speaker on leadership and team building. He is an instructor for the Santa Clara County Joint Fire Academy, an academy instructor at Las Positas Community College, and a member of the “Nobody Gets Left Behind” training group.

FULLY INVOLVED Leadership Program

In the modern fire service, where nothing is constant except change, one thing must remain paramount, the ability for leaders to connect with and inspire the people in their charge.

FULLY INVOLVED is geared toward professionals who wish to expand their abilities in leadership. No matter your level or role in the organization it is imperative that expectations and goals are clarion clear if the team is to succeed.

FULLY INVOLVED has its roots in mutual expectations and lays the foundation for teamwork by creating a belief system throughout the organization.

FULLY INVOLVED has worked for over 40 years in professional football, the fire service, and applies to the business world as well.  

Thousands of fire service professionals have attended the FULLY INVOLVED Leadership Seminars and are now among the involved.  “Getting team members to pull towards a common goal is a key component in successful operations.  

FULLY INVOLVED gives students the tools to create a pact that is applicable to all levels of the organization.” 

 

They’ll follow or they’ll follow somebody else. The choice is yours.  

 

Delivery options:

  • Full or half day options are offered based upon the wishes of the host. All classes include a deep dive into team building concepts and the importance of mentoring as a lifelong part of your lifestyle in the organization.
  • Full day option includes a morning of directed lecture and class participation, an afternoon workshop of “Creating a Culture that Works”, where attendees collaborate on team building projects and chart the course first for themselves, the work group, and then the organization.
  • Half day option is largely dedicated to laying the foundation for a culture that works. It is designed to be interactive and conversational.
  • Keynote and virtual deliveries are available upon request.
