Donald Colarusso

All Hands Fire Training Director & Lead Instructor


Don joined the fire service on April 7, 1987 and served nearly four decades in the fire department and emergency services.  During that time he served as a fire chief for 6 years before transitioning to a position as Deputy Coordinator overseeing Special Operations in municipal Emergency Management.  He is the Team Leader for Neptune Township NJ's Technical Rescue Team and the Regional Water Rescue Team.

Paul Hashagen

Senior Instructor Emeritus 


Paul has been a tremendous inspiration, mentor and friend to All Hands Fire, for which we are eternally grateful. Paul Hashagen served over 40 years in the fire service. He joined the FDNY and was assigned to Engine 74, then to Ladder 25. He became a member of Rescue Company 1 in 1983 where he spent the next 20 years. Paul is a member of Freeport Fire Department - Truck 1 in Nassau County, Long Island where he also served as Chief of Department.

Joel Kanasky

Senior Instructor Emeritus


Joel has been a tremendous inspiration, mentor and friend to All Hands Fire, for which we are eternally grateful. Joel Kanasky served many years in Rescue Company 1 in Manhattan, before retiring from the FDNY. He also served as a Logistics Section Chief for FEMA Urban Search & Rescue. Prior to joining the FDNY, Joel was a firefighter with the Alexandria VA Fire Department and also served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps.

Joe Adams has served in the fire service for over 24 years, including the last 19 years with the Philadelphia Fire Department, where he is currently assigned to Rescue 1.

All Hands Fire Lead Instructor / Lieutenant, Cranford NJ Fire Department / Structural Engineer


Mark joined the fire service in 2012 and is currently serves as a Lieutenant with the Cranford Fire Department. He is a certified swiftwater rescue, ice rescue and confined space rescue technician.

Jim served with the Jersey City Fire Department, retiring after 31 years. He is presently an active member of NJ Task Force 1 – Urban Search and Rescue Team, where he serves as a Task Force Leader and is responsible for the Search Component.

Ryan joined the emergency services in 2002 and has been in the fire service since 2006 starting in Hillsborough, NJ. Ryan has certifications as a level 2 fire instructor, fire official, fire investigator, EMT and is a former Paramedic.

Rob has been a Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission Water Rescue Instructor since 2017 and is currently a member of the PA Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, Montgomery County Urban Search and Rescue, and Gladwyne Fire Company’s Swiftwater Rescue Team.

Tony is a Battalion Chief with the Washington DC Fire Department. He was appointed to DCFD in March 1992. He has served in some of the District of Columbia’s busiest Engine and Truck Company’s, as well as serving in Rescue Company 2.

Chief Eysser has been in fire service since 1991. He has been a member of the FDNY since 1995 and is currently the Battalion Commander assigned to Battalion 50. His previous assignments include Captain of Ladder Co. 120 (Watkins Street), Lieutenant in Ladder Co. 124 (Tonka Truck), and Firefighter in Ladder Co. 111 (The Nuthouse)

Aaron is a twenty year student of the emergency services - dating back to 2006. In that time he has been privileged to both volunteer and work in a myriad of capacities from serving as Chief of Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 in 2016 and 2017 to working as an EMT in both a municipal-based EMS system and for the federal government.

Vinny Lazzara

Vinny joined the fire service in 1990. He serves as a chief officer in Howell Township (NJ), and is also a past-chief in Freehold (NJ). Since 2011, Vinny has been a member of NJ Task Force 1 USAR and is assigned as a Search Technician and Swift Water Rescue component.

John Mahon began his firefighting career in 2000 as a volunteer in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he continues to serve today. John became a Pennsylvania State Instructor and Fish and Boat Commission certified water rescue instructor in 2014, focusing on technical rescue.

Paul was appointed to the FDNY in 1996 and was assigned to Engine Company 280 in Brooklyn. Through the years, Paul was assigned to Squad 252, Rescue Company 4 and served as Lieutenant in Squad Company 1 until his retirement in 2022.

Pat currently serves as a career firefighter assigned to Rescue 1 in the City of Perth Amboy, NJ. He also currently serves as a Rescue Specialist/Paramedic at University Hospital EMS Rescue 1, providing technical rescue for the City of Newark, NJ along with Newark FD and Newark PD.

"Murph" was appointed to the Jersey City Fire Department in 1999. He worked in Squad Company 4 and in 2004 assigned to Rescue 1. Over the years he received extensive technical rescue training through USAI in structural collapse, trench, confined space and high angle rope rescue.
