COURSE OVERVIEW
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, are rapidly becoming valuable tools for fire departments, law enforcement agencies, EMS organizations, emergency management offices, and search and rescue teams. This four-hour introductory program provides public safety professionals with a practical understanding of drone operations, FAA regulations, licensing requirements, equipment selection, risk management, and program development. Through real-world examples and operational discussions, participants will learn how drones can enhance situational awareness, improve responder safety, and support a wide range of emergency response missions while gaining the knowledge needed to evaluate, implement, or expand a public safety drone program.
This course provides foundational knowledge of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and their application within public safety organizations. This is not a Part 107 test preparation course.
