This 16-hour course is designed to prepare rescue personnel with the essential skills and knowledge needed to assess and respond to ice-related emergencies. Participants will learn to recognize different ice conditions, utilize ice rescue equipment, and practice key rescue techniques from the shoreline, on ice, from a platform, and through direct contact. Focused on safety protocols, effective communication, and sound decision-making, this comprehensive training ensures that rescuers are well-prepared to tackle the challenges posed by ice rescue situations.
All individual skill modules can be delivered as stand-alone training sessions, giving departments the flexibility to tailor training to their specific operational needs, staffing levels, and scheduling constraints. Whether used to reinforce core competencies, address identified gaps, or provide focused skill development, each module can be scheduled independently and delivered on-site to align with your department’s availability and training objectives.
