COURSE OVERVIEW
Explore fundamental chemical and physical characteristics that govern material behavior. Students analyze reactivity, flammability, toxicity, and phase changes, applying these concepts to real-world response scenarios. Through experiments and tabletop exercises, they learn to predict hazards, interpret sensor readings, and make operational decisions that minimize risk and optimize safety during chemical incidents.
This course satisfies the following requirements: OSHA 1910.120; NFPA 30, 45, 50A, 50B, 55, 400, 470, 472, 473, 484, 485, 495, 704, 1072, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994
