COURSE OVERVIEW
Refrigerants and other halogenated hydrocarbons create challenges that are often overlooked during emergency response. Oxygen displacement, meter limitations, and misleading monitoring results can complicate hazard assessment and operational decision-making. This course examines the behavior of common halogenated hydrocarbons in transportation, industrial, and refrigeration incidents. Participants learn to interpret monitoring data, recognize equipment limitations, evaluate atmospheric hazards, and apply response strategies based on actual conditions rather than assumptions.
This course satisfies the following requirements: OSHA 1910.120(e), OSHA 1910.120(q); NFPA 30, 45, 400, 470, 471, 472, 704, 1072, 1991, 1994; ISO 17840-1:2022
