COURSE OVERVIEW
Designed for firefighters, hazardous materials technicians, and operations-level responders, this course prepares students to manage hazardous materials incidents in ports, waterways, and marine environments where access is limited, conditions are unpredictable, and products behave differently than they do on land. Through classroom, tabletop, and vessel-based training, participants work through realistic scenarios involving shipboard hazards, bulk fuel transfers, vapor movement over water, submerged hazards, and maritime coordination challenges, applying core hazmat principles to make effective decisions in complex overwater response environments.
This course satisfies the following requirements: OSHA 1910.120; NFPA 45, 400, 470, 471, 472, 473, 484, 485, 495, 704, 1072, 1991, 1994; ISO 17840-1:2022
