The Safety Officer's role extends beyond monitoring compliance. Effective safety management requires understanding how operational decisions, monitoring data, PPE selection, and incident objectives affect responder risk throughout an evolving event. This course prepares personnel to evaluate hazards from both command and field perspectives. Participants learn to assess operational risk, interpret technical information, identify unsafe conditions, and integrate safety considerations into hazardous materials and WMD incidents without disrupting mission objectives.
This course satisfies the following requirements: OSHA 1910.120(e), OSHA 1910.120(q); NFPA 54, 55, 400, 470, 472, 704, 1072; ISO 17840-1:2022
